Kompozytor amerykański, jeden z głównych przedstawicieli minimalizmu w muzyce urodził się w 1936 roku w Nowym Jorku. Studiował na Uniwersytecie Cornella, Julliard School oraz w Mills College.
Richard Berkeley – śpiewak, animator kultury, prezes Zarządu Fundacja Nowa Orkiestra Kameralna, którego rodzina pochodzi z Polski studiował śpiew u Ellis Keeler w Guildhall School of Music and Drama w Londynie. Pobierał także prywatne lekcje u Rene Jacobsa, Paula Esswooda, John York Skinnera, Margar
Studiował m.in. w Akademii Muzycznej w Warszawie oraz we Freiburgu w Niemczech. Od 1989 r. gra z Warszawskim Kwintetem Dętym, z którym nagrał 2 płyty i koncertował w Niemczech, Holandii, Wielkiej Brytanii, Szwajcarii, Czechach, Słowacji, na Tajwanie i w USA (m.in. w Carnegie Hall).
