A report on Sergei Prokofiev's opera "Love for Three Oranges", which was presented on July 4 at the Kraków Opera.
This Soviet composer and pianist born in Sontsovka in 1891 is one of the best examples of the Soviet composition school. His work influenced later artists from his side such as Aram Khachaturian or Dmitri Kabalevsky.
The word symphony comes from the Greek words syn- and phone, which the Greeks used to define concepts related to 'harmony'. Since the 18th century, this term began to be used in relation to a musical form mainly derived from the sonata, but also from the prelude, suite, and overture.
