Born in Vilnius in 1930. In the years 1952-57, he studied piano and composition in the class of Julius Juzeliunas at the State Conservatory of the Lithuanian SSR in Vilnius. He continued his composition studies in the years 1957-60 at the State Higher School of Music in Warsaw under Bolesław Woytowicz.

It was amazing! Denis Matsuev masterfully handled the keys in this performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2. His technique is incredible, and the emotions he conveys are striking. This is truly epic music that takes us on a beautiful journey through sound. Conductor Vasily Petrenko is also brilliant, making the entire orchestra sound with tremendous power and precision. This is exactly what I need when listening to music - energy, passion, and a wonderful interpretation. I really can't stop watching this magnificent performance.
