"Every private has a marshal's baton in his backpack and thinks he will be a general. I knew immediately what I wrote in 1976 and now I know too," said Henryk Mikołaj Górecki about his III Symphony - "Symphony of Sorrowful Songs" in 1993. Today, almost a year after the composer's death, during a concert at the Wratislavia Cantans festival, we have the opportunity to recall one of the most important musical works of the second half of the 20th century.
The outstanding Polish composer and educator, a Knight of the Order of the White Eagle, was born in 1933 in Czernica, Silesia. He began his musical education at the age of 19 at the Secondary Music School...
Currently in Poznań, the XIV International Violin Competition named after H. Wieniawski is taking place. This is traditionally the most important musical event in Poland... when the 'Chopin Competition' is not being held. But are violins, not something more 'sensitive' than pianos? - a more important creation?

is an annual event that celebrates the art of animation in various forms. One of the standout entries in this year's festival is a sand animation video set to the music of Henryk Wieniawski's "Fantazja Faust." The video is a collaboration between Hungarian animator Ferenc Cakó and Polish musicians Jarek Nadrzycki on the violin and Michał Francuz on the piano. Together, they have created a visually stunning and emotionally powerful film that captivates and mesmerizes the audience. Sand animation, also known as sand art, is a unique form of animation that uses grains of sand to create images and tell stories. It requires immense skill and precision to manipulate the sand in such a way that it forms coherent and expressive images. Cakó's mastery of this art form is evident in every frame of the video. The choice of Henryk Wieniawski's music adds an additional layer of depth and complexity to the video. Wieniawski was a Polish composer and violinist who was known for his virtuosic skills on the violin. His "Fantazja Faust" is a hauntingly beautiful piece that perfectly complements the visuals created by Cakó. The video itself is a journey through various emotions and states of mind. The sand constantly shifts and morphs, creating a dynamic and ever-changing landscape. The movements of the sand mirror the music, with its ebbs and flows, creating a harmonious and symbiotic relationship between the two art forms. Overall, this sand animation video is a testament to the power of collaboration and the boundless possibilities of artistic expression. It is a mesmerizing and thought-provoking work of art that deserves recognition and praise. The combination of Cakó's skill as an animator, Nadrzycki's and Francuz's musical talents, and Wieniawski's evocative music creates a truly memorable and impactful experience for the viewer.
Wow, that sand animation to the music of Henryk Wieniawski is absolutely amazing! Ferenc Cakó is an incredible animator from Hungary, and this work is simply a masterpiece. Combined with the wonderful sounds of the violin by Jarek Nadrzycki and the piano by Michał Francuz, it is a perfect way to transport oneself to the magical world of art. I am delighted that such animation was presented at the Animated Film Festival in Poznań. It is truly a youthful way to discover the beauty of classical music and animation art.
