This German composer, born in Zwickau in 1810, is one of the typical representatives of Romanticism in music. He was the son of a bookseller, so from an early age he was connected with literature to such an extent that at a certain stage of his life he hesitated between this field of art and music.
The spring concert of the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw is a meeting with three composers of the Romantic era, who – each in their own way – broke the boundaries of musical form and expression.

Robert Schumann was a German composer, known primarily for his piano music. His Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54, is one of the most famous and highly regarded works of this genre. It was composed in 1841 and reflects the typical romantic expression and passion characteristic of Schumann. The video features a performance of this concerto by one of the most outstanding pianists of our time, Martha Argerich.
