Christoph Soldan - piano
Quintet of Silesian Chamber Musicians
Born in 1756 in Salzburg, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart went down in history as a unique composer, genius, one of the three Viennese classics. His father, a violinist, immediately noticed the talent of his son, who at the age of 4 played simple melodies on the harpsichord.
How many classics were there? What a question! - three: Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. But are they the only ones that really matter in the European classical era? It seems so... at least that's what the latest album from Dux, published in the series 'Masters of Eras and Their Works', convinces us of.
I first heard Fauré's Requiem when I was fourteen. At that time, my entire perception was focused on the creativity of one of the Viennese classics, the creator of the most famous mass of consolation - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The E-flat major concerto KV 449 by Mozart is one of the most beautiful works of the master from Salzburg. It is surprising that despite the young age of the composer at the time of creating this concerto, the piece emanates maturity and artistic genius. The performers of this work are Christoph Soldan, a talented pianist, and the Silesian Chamber Quintet, well known for their excellent interpretation of chamber music. Their joint performance makes the piece sound with extraordinary precision and sophistication. The form of this concerto is typical of classical music from the Rococo era. It consists of three parts, and the one presented in this recording is the second of them. The second part is a beautiful, melodic Adagio, in which the sublime playing of the pianist combines with the delicate accompaniment of the string quintet. What distinguishes this piece is its exceptional lyrical beauty and delicacy. Mozart masterfully showcases his unparalleled compositional skills and ability to create extraordinary emotions. His refined harmony, melody, and inventive modulations lead the listener into a state of focus and contemplation. The E-flat major concerto KV 449 is a true gem of classical music, which in the performance of Soldan and the Silesian Chamber Quintet gains extraordinary depth and beauty. It is undoubtedly one of those works that brilliantly illustrate the genius and talent of Mozart himself, as well as the beauty of the era in which it was created. Such recordings are a true feast for lovers of classical music and should be appreciated for their invaluable artistic value.
This is absolutely amazing! Christoph Soldan's piano playing is both delicate and full of energy. The Silesian Cameralists quintet perfectly complements his performance. This part of the concert is truly beautiful and moves me. I feel that Mozart managed to convey his feelings and emotions through it. It is a true masterpiece that must be heard! It has completely inspired me to continue learning to play the piano. It is truly worth listening to this wonderful interpretation.
