Maciej Afanasjew is a lecturer at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and Gdańsk (class of jazz violin). He is involved in music on many levels - as a solo violinist, chamber musician, arranger, and educator.
Last year, Maciej Zieliński stood out significantly on the contemporary music scene. In September, his monographic album "Across the Millenniums - Music from the Turn of the Millennium" was released, summarizing his serious creative work.
He graduated with honors in composition in the class of Marian Borkowski (1996) and conducting in the class of Ryszard Dudek (1997) at the Academy of Music in Warsaw. He perfected his conducting skills under the direction of Zoltan Pesko (2000-2002) and Yuri Simonov (2003-2008).

"Memories of Tomorrow" is a tribute to one of the most outstanding contemporary jazz pianists - Keith Jarrett. The composition is performed by Maciej Afanasjew on violin and Karol Szymanowski on bass vibraphone. The African-American musician, Keith Jarrett, gained popularity thanks to his extraordinary piano playing style, which encompasses elements of jazz, classical music, and improvisation. The video features two talented artists who uniquely interpret the piece. Maciej Afanasjew, an extremely talented violinist, is known for his exceptional sound and musical sensitivity. Karol Szymanowski, on the other hand, is an excellent performer on the bass vibraphone, creating a distinctive atmosphere and sound. Their joint performance conveys the depth of emotions hidden in this piece. Jan Duks and Tomasz Terpiński, responsible for sound production and mixing, perfectly captured the artists' vision, creating a full sound and technically excellent reception of the piece. The visual realization was entrusted to milandkamedia.pl, resulting in high visual quality that complements the exceptional performance of the piece. This piece is both a tribute to Keith Jarrett and an excellent example of how musical art can permeate various genres and eras. The performance by Maciej Afanasjew and Karol Szymanowski is bold and full of passion, conveying a unique musical experience to the listener. Their interpretation allows for the discovery of new dimensions and layers of the piece, introducing us to a world of extraordinary sounds and emotions.
