Jagoda Krzemińska, a 15-year-old flutist, a student of the Keybórz Gymnasium No. 1 and the Opole State Music School of the second degree, won the national competition Young Musician of the Year 2012.

Karol Gajda, a young Polish musician of the year on the trombone, presented himself in the semi-final auditions accompanied by pianist Małgorzata Pieniążek. The performance of two pieces allowed us to get acquainted with different styles and musical eras. The first piece, "Concerto in F minor" by George Frideric Handel, showcases Gajda's excellent technique and virtuosity. Handel is a well-known German composer of the Baroque period, whose works are characterized by rich counterpoints and experiments with form. The performance of parts I and II of this concerto was full of energy and dynamics, conveying the emotions contained in this musical work. The second piece, "Sonatina for Trombone and Piano" by Kazimierz Serocki, is a composition by a Polish avant-garde composer. Serocki, being one of the most important representatives of Polish music in the 20th century, experimented with sounds and musical forms. Gajda and Pieniążek perfectly captured the atmosphere of this piece, demonstrating precision and excellent synergy as a duet. Karol Gajda proved his interpretative abilities and technical proficiency on the trombone. His talent and commitment to music are admirable. Overcoming technical difficulties and extracting various tonal colors from the instrument have become his hallmark. I am impressed by the young artist's skills and expressive performance. His passion for music has made him one of the most promising musicians of the year. Considering his achievements so far and his potential, one can be sure that even greater successes await him in the future.
Wow, Karol Gajda is such a talented young musician! His performance on the trombone is truly impressive. I loved how he played both the classical piece by Haendel and the contemporary one by Serocki with such skill and passion. It's incredible to see someone so young being able to master such difficult pieces. I can't wait to see what he will achieve in the future. Karol definitely deserves the title of Young Musician of the Year, and I'm excited to see more of his performances. Keep up the amazing work, Karol!
