Kasia Gacek-Duda and Ethnoflutes - Conversations about Music

Today we invite you on a seemingly distant journey. We invite you to the world of flute sounds from different cultures, which, although so far apart, share one thing – the beauty and simplicity of sound.
Kasia Gacek-Duda, a flutist and multi-instrumentalist, the initiator of the Kingdom of Beskid – a project showcasing the music of the Beskids in a somewhat unconventional way, i.e., combining flutes and violins, talks about her love for recorders. In her collection, she has various gems, including a double flute, Irish wooden flute, transverse flute, and North American Indian flute, which men used to entice their chosen ones to come out of the tipi and take a walk with them. Although the collection is truly impressive, Kasia still lacks her dream instrument – a wooden transverse flute with contemporary pads (silver or gold), which is not yet visible in Polish concert halls.
In addition to her active concert activities and regular presence in recording studios, Kasia runs a blog about flutes and is also writing a doctoral thesis on mimicking the sounds of ethnic instruments on the transverse flute.
Today, at a time when traveling has become limited, thanks to the music of Kasia Gacek-Duda, you can explore a world enchanted in the sounds of ethnoflutes.
