"Close Thine Eyes" is a work written by Henry Purcell, a British composer who lived from 1659 to 1695. This piece comes from an album of the same title, released by the Stradivarius label. In this performance, we can hear outstanding artists: Joanna Klisowska as soprano, Peter Kooij as bass, Pietro Prosser playing the archlute and baroque lute, Cristiano Contadina on viola da gamba, and Lorenzo Feder on harpsichord and positive organ. The composition is sublime and full of emotions characteristic of the Baroque period. Purcell is considered one of the greatest composers of his time and is a leading representative of English Baroque music. "Close Thine Eyes" is a work with a distinct form and melodies that become richer thanks to the excellent interpretation by Klisowska and Kooij. Prosser's archlute and baroque lute, Contadina's viola da gamba, and Feder's harpsichord and positive organ give the piece a unique character and depth. The photos from this wonderful concert were taken by Jakub Boski and Michał Siergiejewicz, who skillfully captured the magic of the music through their frames. This work is a great example of the excellence and unforgettable beauty of Baroque music. Henry Purcell created a masterpiece that continues to delight and move listeners around the world.
