Alongside Beethoven and Mozart, a great representative of Viennese classicism. Considered the father of the symphony, sonata, and string quartet, he contributed to the flourishing of these musical forms, which survived almost intact until the beginning of the 20th century.
How many classics were there? What a question! - three: Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. But are they the only ones that really matter in the European classical era? It seems so... at least that's what the latest album from Dux, published in the series 'Masters of Eras and Their Works', convinces us of.
On Saturday, March 23, 2019, the CIX concert from the series "Great Music in the Small Hall" organized by the Warsaw University of Technology took place. Although the concert was held in the Large Hall of the Polytechnic, the concert series retained its name for historical reasons.

The Trumpet Concerto No. 3 by Haydn, performed by Tine Thing Helseth, is a true masterpiece of classical music. Joseph Haydn, known as the "father of the symphony," was an outstanding composer and pianist who lived in the 18th century. His works are often described as elegant and full of charm, and this trumpet concerto is a perfect example of his talent. The composition consists of three parts - Allegro, Adagio, and Allegro. Each of them introduces the listener to a different mood and delights with its virtuosity. The trumpet concerto became an important element of Haydn's output, as he sought to explore the possibilities of this instrument. Tine Thing Helseth's performance is absolutely phenomenal. The Norwegian trumpeter has gained recognition worldwide for her technique and expression. Her interpretation of this composition is incredibly pure and full of sensitivity. Her ability to extract every sound from her trumpet is astonishing, and her emotional approach to the piece makes it extremely moving. The form of the trumpet concerto, with its three-part structure, allows us to discover different aspects of the composition. Haydn skillfully balances the energetic Allegro section with the melancholy of the Adagio part, and then returns to full vigor at the conclusion. This is certainly one of the most striking examples of his mastery in creating and contrasting moods. This trumpet concerto by Haydn comes from the classical era, characterized by simplicity, balance, and clarity. His compositions set new standards and influenced the development of music in the 18th century. Therefore, it is worth appreciating the significance of this work and the composer's grandeur. The conclusion is simple - Haydn must have had Tine Thing Helseth in mind, as she reproduces his work with great precision and virtuosity. Her interpretation of this trumpet concerto is extremely emotional and surprising. It is undoubtedly one of the most memorable performances of this piece, deserving the highest recognition.
This video of the trumpet concert No. 3 by Haydn is absolutely amazing! I can't believe how brilliantly it was performed by Tine Thing Helseth. Her playing is simply phenomenal! It's really interesting that this video became so popular, but I have to agree with the author that Haydn must have had something closer to Helseth's performance in mind. Her skills and interpretation of this piece are absolutely incomparable. I am definitely a fan of this trumpeter!
