"Death and the Maiden" part 5 is a section of a cycle of works composed by Franz Schubert in 1824. Schubert, an Austrian composer, is considered one of the most important representatives of musical romanticism. This particular piece was written based on the poetry of Friedrich Schiller, whose text tells the story of a girl who is invited for a walk by Death. The performer of the piece is the well-known string quartet Alban Berg. It is one of the most renowned string quartets in the world, founded in 1971. Their interpretations of Schubert's music are regarded as exceptional and inspiring. I feel as if I have been transported to another world, rich in emotions and tension. The string quartet's playing is phenomenal - every sound is precise and full of passion. I am glad that I could hear this and I will definitely reach for more of Schubert's works performed by the Alban Berg Quartet. I really recommend it!
