Erik Satie - Three Pieces in the Shape of a Pear

Music has developed certain forms that often turned out to be too tight a corset for it. Therefore, there are no two pieces constructed in the same way or fitting exactly into established patterns. The combination of schematic names of these forms with the poetic titles given to the pieces was bitterly mocked by Erik Satie, who labeled some of his compositions with titles such as: Three Pieces in the Shape of a Pear, Flabby Preludes for a Dog, etc.
