On a warm August Saturday evening in the concert hall of the National Forum of Music in Wroclaw, music lovers from not only Poland, but also from around the world gathered. Everyone had long awaited the performance of their favorite stars from the biggest opera stages - Aleksandra Kurzak and Roberto Alagna, so there was already great enthusiasm before entering the building.
In addition to composing music for television and film, Mikołaj Stroiński successfully composes tracks for popular video games. His latest significant project is the music for the third part of the Witcher saga - 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt'.
On Friday morning, the greatest popularity among the festival audience was enjoyed primarily by three titles. The free screenings of the films "Pinocchio" and "Casper the Friendly Ghost" attracted the youngest viewers to the cinema. For adults, the exceptional treat turned out to be "Tales That Only Live in Memory" - a poetic story of a village in the Brazilian interior, which has won numerous awards at film festivals around the world.

Anoushka Shankar, the daughter of legendary composer Ravi Shankar, is an artist whose talent continually delights listeners around the world. Her multicultural music, which blends Hindu and Western traditions, is a true homage to her roots while also being a bold exploration of new sounds. The video from the Verbier festival, in which Anoushka Shankar performs on the sitar, is an extraordinary musical experience. Together with Joshua Bell on violin and Tanmoy Bose on tabla, they create an amazing harmony of sounds and rhythms that transports listeners to the magical world of Indian classical music. The sitar, one of the most important instruments in Hindu music, carries rich traditions and history. Anoushka Shankar has mastered this art perfectly, and with her unmatched mastery of the sitar, she enriches the orchestra of sounds at the Verbier festival. Anoushka's collaboration with Joshua Bell, one of the most outstanding contemporary violinists, is incredibly inspiring. Their virtuosity and passion for music are evident at every stage of the performance, creating an unforgettable experience for the audience. Additionally, the tabla accompanying Anoushka, played by Tanmoy Bose, introduces deeper rhythmic layers, giving the composition even more energy. Together, they create a three-dimensional musical spectacle that captivates listeners. The video from the Verbier festival not only showcases Anoushka Shankar's extraordinary talent and her ability to transcend cultural boundaries, but it also pays tribute to her father, Ravi Shankar. It is undoubtedly one of the most important recordings that should be in the library of every classical music lover.
Wow, that was amazing! Anoushka Shankar played wonderful music on the sitar during the Verbier festival. Her father, Ravi Shankar, is already a favorite, so I wasn't disappointed. But Anoushka certainly showed her own skills and talent. Her playing was full of passion and emotion. Joshua Bell on the violin and Tanmoy Bose on the tabla were a perfect accompaniment for Anoushka. Together they created an incredible soundscape that blew me away. I can't wait to listen to more recordings like this!
