Antonio Vivaldi, one of the most important Baroque composers, created a series of concertos titled "The Four Seasons." "Summer" is one of the four concertos that make up this series. In this part, titled "Storm," we hear a performance on the accordion by Hrustevich. In the first part, titled "Allegro," Vivaldi paints a picture of a scorching summer day with sounds. We hear the voices of birds, such as cuckoos, turtle doves, and finches. The feeling of the summer breeze is represented by high strings. Suddenly, a storm approaches, and we hear the melody of a frightened boy played by solo violin. In the second part, "Adagio e piano - Presto e forte," there is no calming. Tired tendons are attacked by annoying flies and insects, which is depicted by the solo singing of the violin. Next, dark clouds gather above them, which can be heard in rapidly repeated sixteenth-note groups. In the third part, "Presto," the clouds destroy the crops and corn with hail. The composer achieves a unified dramatic mood of this picture with the help of tremolos, fast runs of scales, broken chords, unsettling bass figures, and virtuosic effects of solo violins. The performance on the accordion by Hrustevich offers a new perspective on this extraordinary music. His interpretative skill and technical abilities allow us to discover new nuances and emotions in this piece. Thanks to Vivaldi and the outstanding performance by Hrustevich, we can experience a summer storm and feel the intensity of this exciting composition. It is another example of how music can transport us through time and space, allowing us to explore different eras and musical styles.
Wow, that was amazing! The performer on the accordion made a great impression. He masterfully conveyed the emotions hidden in this music. During "The Storm," one could feel the intensity of a summer day, to the point that one could feel like being in the eye of a storm. The instrumental sounds of birds or wind were so realistic that one could close their eyes and believe they were in the middle of nature. And the final falling raindrops felt like they had fallen into my mind. Thanks to such performances of Vivaldi's classics, young people can also discover the beauty of classical music.
