Herbert von Karajan's student at the only concert in Gdansk!

Herbert von Karajan's student - Michael Zilm and the laureate of international piano competitions Elena Karpukhova will perform accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic at the only concert in Gdansk!

The concert is planned as part of the well-received series titled Great Conductors.

Michael Zilm honed his skills under the famous Herbert von Karajan - considered one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century. Today, as a laureate of prestigious conducting competitions - First Prize at the Besançon Competition in 1983 and a gold medal and three special prizes at the G. Fitelberg Competition in Katowice in 1987, he is considered one of the best. He will visit Gdansk once again to conduct a slightly reduced composition of the Gdansk Philharmonic, with the Symphony Orchestra of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic accompanying the Russian pianist, a laureate of many international competitions, and a professor at the Moscow Conservatory, Eleonora Karpukhova.

During the concert, alongside well-known classics by W.A. Mozart, works by Igor Stravinsky will also be heard. And so, within the walls of the Concert Hall at Ołowianka, the following pieces will be performed:

Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major KV 467 and Symphony No. 35 in D major, known as Haffner by Mozart, as well as, among others, the Concerto in E-flat major Dumbarton Oaks, composed for Hollywood by Stravinsky.

This is an excellent opportunity to hear how the music of the old masters influenced the creativity of subsequent generations.

The Great Conductors concert will take place on Friday, January 29th, at 7:00 PM.

Tickets: 58 320 62 62 and at filharmonia.gda.pl
