Born in 1756 in Salzburg, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart went down in history as a unique composer, genius, one of the three Viennese classics. His father, a violinist, immediately noticed the talent of his son, who at the age of 4 played simple melodies on the harpsichord. Therefore, he decided to take him and his older sister on a journey to cities and European courts so that his children could be noticed. In addition, the father of the young genius decided to give up everything just to educate his son. W. A. Mozart also studied under composers such as Johann Christian Bach and Father Martini from Bologna, who influenced his work. From the age of 6, he composed over 600 pieces, and at the age of 12, he created his first opera 'Apollo et Hyacinthus'. In 1769, he traveled with his father to Italy, where he met composer G. B. Sammartini, in Rome the Pope awarded him the title of knight of the order 'Golden Spurs' and passed exams to the famous Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna. It was in Italy that Mozart wrote his first major work 'Mitridate, King of Pontus', an opera that brought him great fame. After moving to Vienna, his creativity entered a period of musical maturity. There he befriended the second Viennese classic, F. J. Haydn, to whom he dedicated his six quartets. The arrival of Lorenz da Ponte in Vienna provided Mozart with librettos, which he used to compose the following operas: 'The Marriage of Figaro', 'Don Giovanni' and 'Così fan tutte'. Among the works he wrote in Vienna were, among others, concerts for both piano and orchestra, the final trilogy of symphonies (including Jupiter) and a serenade for a string orchestra in G major ('Eine kleine Nachtmusik'). In the last years of his life, he composed 'The Magic Flute', 'The Clemency of Titus', and the unfinished Requiem in D minor, one of the most important sacred works of this composer, which was completed by his student F.X. Süssmayr. Mozart died in poverty in Vienna in 1791.
