On November 21 (Thursday) at 18:00, the renowned figure in the Polish folk scene Waldemar RychÅy and friends will perform live music for the silent Polish film 'Above the Snow'.
'Above the Snow' is a silent film from 1929 based on the drama by Stefan Żeromski 'Above the Snow, the Whiter Ones Play.' The action of the film takes place in the eastern borderlands, during the contemporary times of Żeromski around the year 1920.
An integral part of this show is the performance of the group led by Waldemar RychÅy. The ensemble of musicians will perform live, enhancing the magic of this extraordinary film from the silent film era.
The music prepared for the film is based on border motifs and folk melodies recorded by Oskar Kolberg. It is a folk concert that connects various traditional European music with jazz improvisation and the energy of acoustic rock playing.
