Dreams at Film Screenings and Hollywood Stars at Your Fingertips.

On Friday morning, the greatest popularity among the festival audience was enjoyed primarily by three titles. The free screenings of the films 'Pinocchio' and 'Casper the Friendly Ghost' attracted the youngest viewers to the cinema. For adults, the exceptional treat turned out to be 'Tales That Only Live in Memory' - a poetic story of a village in the Brazilian interior, which has won numerous awards at film festivals around the world. With each subsequent screening, the lobby and halls of Multikino 51 gathered increasingly larger crowds. On the next festival day, thanks to films such as 'Caesar Must Die', 'Violeta Went to Heaven', 'Cafe de Flore', 'For Ellen', 'Forever Laurence' or hits from TRANSATLANTYK DOCS 2012 - the documentary from the Sundance Festival 'The Invisible War' and 'The Greatest Movie Ever Sold' by Morgan Spurlock, film enthusiasts participated in a true cinematic feast. Friday evening also featured screenings at the Baltic Cinema in Łódź in front of Concordia Design, where 'City Island' and 'Happy', a documentary about happiness, were screened.

The TRANSATLANTYK Festival is not only about film screenings but also meetings and workshops with outstanding specialists from Europe and Hollywood. On Friday afternoon, after the screening of the film 'The House of Sand and Fog', it was possible to personally talk with the world-renowned actress Frances Fisher, known from the film 'Titanic', and after 'Ghosts of the Dirty Work' with director Jim Munroe. On the same day, Julian Sands presented his moving monodrama for the second time, dedicated to the life and work of Harold Pinter. This time, however, not in a theater, but on an intimate stage prepared in the attic of the Institute of Castaways. As part of the Master Classes, other festival guests shared their knowledge and experience, including Vasco Hexel, Florence Fellman, Waldemar Kalinowski, Richard Bellis, and Cezary Cichocki from Alvernia Studios.

At 8:00 PM, in the square in front of Concordia Design, Ari Kalinowski, a participant in the New York Occupy movement, invited viewers to his tent with the project 'The Beacon'. Meanwhile, at the nearby Festival Club, one could party until the morning with the music of DJs Polar and Horhe.

Friday evening also featured another screening of Culinary Cinema, which began with the showing of the French film 'The Family Meal'. The story of the difficult generational change in a family of three-Michelin-star chefs was the main theme of the dinner prepared after the screening by the festival kitchen chef, Krzysztof Rabka. The menu was complemented - to the delight of 120 connoisseurs participating in the dinner - with excellent quality organic wines.
