THE PICTUREBOOKS

The German duo known for their garage sound, The Picturebooks, will visit Poland this April! The Picturebooks combine elements of blues, rock, and punk rock, known for such tracks as 'Zero Fucks Given' and 'Beach Seduction'. The artists will perform at Hydrozagadka in Warsaw on April 9.

The Picturebooks are known for their lifestyle on the road – often touring on motorcycles and organizing their own concert tours. Their music and lifestyle have much in common with the motorcycle subculture and the classic 'road trip' style. Fynn Claus Grabke (vocals and guitar) and Philipp Mirtschink (drums) formed their band in the early 2010s. Both members are self-taught, which gives their music a distinctive, somewhat raw and 'unpolished' style.

The Picturebooks' debut album, Imaginary Horse, was released in 2014 and is characterized by a raw, intense sound. The album's style combines elements of heavy blues rock, garage rock, and stoner rock, creating a dark yet energetic atmosphere. The German duo recorded the album in a unique, minimalist way, opting out of cymbals and using slide guitar, which adds authenticity to their sound.

On one of the band's recent albums, The Major Minor Collective, they featured guest appearances from Lzzy Hale of Halestorm and Dennis Lyxzén of Refused. The Picturebooks continue to surprise, with Mirtschink replacing cymbals with metal chains in one of the tracks, adding a 'tribal-desert' character to their music.

The Picturebooks have gained a reputation as a band that, instead of following trends, focuses on originality, creating music that is more emotional than technical, and it is this authenticity that has earned them a place on the global rock scene. Event details «
