As a soloist and a member of chamber ensembles, he has performed both in Poland and abroad. He has participated in numerous prestigious music festivals, including 'Warsaw Autumn', 'Chanterelle Festival', and 'Wratislavia Cantans'. He has performed with leading orchestras and chamber ensembles such as the National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, and the European Workshop For Contemporary Music. He has also collaborated with the Camerata Silesia choir. As part of the festivals 'Pejzaż bez Ciebie' and 'PrzeglÄ d Piosenki Aktorskiej', he has performed with artists such as Natalia Niemen, Mietek SzczeÅniak, Piotr Rogucki, Krzysztof Cugowski, Piotr Cugowski, Grażyna Åobaszewska, Kasia Kowalska, Grzegorz Hyży, and Ania Wyszkoni. He has collaborated with the Musical Theatre Capitol in WrocÅaw, the Musical Theatre named after G. Baduszkowa in Gdynia, and is currently associated with the Polish Theatre named after A. Szyfman in Warsaw.
At the Polish Theatre in Warsaw, he co-created the Poetry Salons, where he composed music to the texts of outstanding poets. This collaboration has resulted in working with prominent actors such as Andrzej Seweryn, Olgierd Åukaszewicz, Anna Dymna, JarosÅaw Gajewski, Krzysztof Globisz, Anna Nehrebecka, Piotr Cyrwus, Anna CieÅlak, Grażyna Barszczewska, Leszek TeleszyÅski, Jerzy Szejbal, and many others. The most significant event related to his collaboration with the Polish Theatre was the Solemn Poetry Salon concluding the 100th anniversary of the Theatre, during which the entire cast, led by director Andrzej Seweryn, read excerpts from 'The Apocalypse of Saint John', and the musical accompaniment of the performance consisted of original compositions by Szymon Nidzworski performed live by the 9-member musical ensemble Szymon Nidzworski Project under the direction of the composer.
These experiences became one of the inspirations for the creation of the original project Szymon Nidzworski Project feat. Andrzej Seweryn. The result is the album 'Behind Your Eyelids', on which Andrzej Seweryn read texts written specifically for the music of Szymon Nidzworski. The actor and director of the Polish Theatre spoke about his collaboration with Szymon: 'Szymon trusted me. (...) I think that the music he created influenced me as well, and it helped me in my work. Thatâs why I also think that he created me, that he created my voice. The one you hear in this recording. This is an example of excellent collaboration.'
In addition to his original album, Szymon Nidzworski has completed many recording sessions, both in classical music (including recordings of 'Kosmogonia' by Krzysztof Penderecki with the National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra), film music (including 'I Am a Murderer' directed by Maciej Pieprzyca, with composer Bartosz Chajdecki, and also 'Animals' directed by Greg ZwoleÅski, also with composer B. Chajdecki), theatrical, and entertainment music. Together with the Morpheus Saxophone Ensemble, he recorded the piece 'Lenten Music' by PaweÅ Åukaszewski. In 2015, the album 'Musica Sacra 5', which included this piece, received a Fryderyk award in the category: Polish Serious Music.
He is a co-founder of the jazz formation Magnolia Acoustic Quartet, which has numerous concert and competition successes to its credit. For the music label ForTune Records, the ensemble released two albums: 'Boozer' (2013) and 'Cinderella' (2014). In July 2015, the ensemble performed at the VIII Summer Jazz Academy in Åódź's 'Wytwórnia', where they had the opportunity to support the Charles Lloyd Quartet. Leszek Możdżer wrote about the ensemble: 'This ensemble is a discovery for me. Here are young musicians stepping onto the stage with confidence, with their chests out, with open hearts. They play strongly, loudly, and damn intelligently. They draw freely and wisely from tradition. I havenât heard such fresh music in a long time (...).'
Recently, he has also been collaborating with pianist Aleksander DÄbiÄ, creating the duo Simple Tales. The meeting with DÄbiÄ, one of the most outstanding young Polish pianists, awarded in various piano competitions, for whom improvisation is the best means of expression, represents a unique record of their artistic acquaintance. Simple Tales are spontaneously invented and narrated musical stories. This is also another project that will soon result in the next album featuring Szymon Nidzworski.
Nidzworski is a laureate of numerous competitions and festivals, both in classical and jazz music. The most important awards and distinctions include: ⢠First prize at the International Competition of the Leopold Bellan Foundation in Paris ⢠Second prize at the International 'Jazz Juniors' Competition in Kraków ⢠First prize at the VI European Musical Integration in Å»yrardów with the Magnolia Acoustic Quartet ⢠Individual award from the jury composed of WÅodek Pawlik, PaweÅ Paniata, and Cezary Konrad for the best soloist at the VI European Musical Integration in Å»yrardów.
