Young Jazz is a concert series (mini-festival) that we have been organizing in Szczecin since 2022. In spring 2024, the third edition of Young Jazz took place. This autumn, we have special additional concerts that we have named Young Jazz 2024 – encore.

SANTABARBARA is the latest project of Szczepan, Łukasz, and Nikodem Pospieszalski, coming from a well-known musical family.

If you would like to listen to what results from a mix of James Blake, Tame Impala, Radiohead, Metronomy filtered through the experience and sensitivity of these talented Polish guys, who have been musically connected since birth - you cannot miss this concert!

The autumn club tour is the best opportunity to listen to the band's sound in its natural habitat. For this occasion, we managed to build a tour to the most interesting places in Poland, but with an international touch - we will appear at the Budapest Showcase Festival in the prestigious location A38SHIP.

Before the pandemic, the band performed at several of the most famous festivals. Among them was the Spring Break festival, where their performance was recognized by Gazeta Wyborcza as one of the 10 most interesting concerts of the festival, as well as performances at AlterFest in Mysłowice, Tchnienia in Baligród, and on the main stage of the OFF Festival in Katowice.

On May 9, 2024, the band's debut album was released, distributed by the international label PIAS, which unites independent creators.

Since the album's release, the most significant achievements include:

- One of the best performances at NEXT Fest 2024 in Poznań, according to journalists and critics.

- Finalists of the Gazeta Wyborcza 'Sanki 2024' poll - recognized as one of the 10 most promising musical talents of 2024.

- Two concerts at 'Męskie Granie' in Warsaw on the Radio 357 stage.

- In our music video, Icelandic film star Tómas Lemarquis appeared - an actor known from films: Blade Runner 2049 and X-man Apocalypse.

- The band's songs regularly feature on popular radio playlists, including Radio 357, Nowy Świat, Trójka Polskiego Radia, and many others.

This release is a huge dose of musical class, experience, and modernity. Since the album's premiere, many excellent reviews have appeared.

The band uses vintage synthesizers and electronic sounds in their performances. During performances, they do not use additional backing tracks, and the music is 100% live, which is becoming less popular on stage lately.

The mastering of the entire album was done by Rafał Smoleń, who is responsible for the final sound of the most famous artists in Poland, such as Taco Hemingway and Dawid Podsiadło.

By forming a band together, artists who daily navigate various music genres decided to express their fascination with alt-pop music.

This project is a synthesis of what is important and inspiring to us in music. We tried to combine these influences, starting from our early fascinations with Radiohead, James Blake, Metronomy, Tame Impala filtered through our daily creativity at the intersection of jazz, traditional music, improvisation, contemporary composition, as well as purely electronic music or even techno.

The whole has taken shape in collision with vintage synthesizers that we collect, and the analog sound has become another area of exploration. - the musicians of Santabarbara talk about their band.

For us - the creators of the band - this is a very significant event, primarily a part of life, closing a certain stage. We tried to ensure that every element of this release was realized at the highest possible level, without the slightest compromises. Starting from recording the material, through multi-stage selection, to post-production - not only musical but also visual. Besides our trio, many exceptional people working for some of the best in the industry are responsible for the success and final shape of this project, and their involvement in the production of our material was a great and satisfying challenge.
