Event Description

Robert Kasprzycki - Solo Act! With the song "Heaven for Rent", he reached a huge audience, and his entire debut album was a treasury of songs, some of which made it into songbooks, while others still form the canon of Polish poetic songs. After a long break, which was a constant concert tour, in the autumn of 2006, "Worldview" was released, with its premiere taking place on the air of Program Three of Polish Radio - where, in fact, in Radio Trojka, you can hear Robert most often.

In the autumn of 2007, the album "Songs and Not" was released by Polish Radio Krakow - a "multi-functional multi-pack", which was both a collection of poems, a songbook, and the cover of a record documenting a concert recorded in the studio of Krakow Radio. Ten years later, a reissue of this album was released by Dalmafon - separately, as a separate album release. In the autumn of 2014, "Four" reached listeners - full of well-played and well-sung songs "for adults". Once again, it was possible to see that Kasprzycki can read poems and between the lines, that he can write densely and darkly, lightly and melodically. Among the songs, "Hold on to the wind, my dear", "Martin Eden", "Like an ocean" and "Rosemary", stood out, but the rest of the album also contained a very coherent, lyrical-rock repertoire.

In the spring of 2021, the album "When late at night" appeared, being an author's attempt to deal with the poetry of Marshal Rydz-Smigly. An attempt that seems successful, as the poems written during the Second World War obtained a coherent sound, and their dark mood fit perfectly with the atmosphere of the lockdown, which then froze the whole world. On December 17, 2021, "Small Bathroom" had its premiere (DALMAFON, 2021) - a lyrical, nostalgic album, recorded in an intimate voice/guitar lineup, a return to the years spent in the Greater Poland region on Mała Łazienkowa Street - to places, characters, language, and the Arcadia of childhood. However, to break this banal image of the Krakow poet, his style is also composed of insensitivity, sarcastic view of the world, and self-ironic sense of humor. Therefore, Kasprzycki can also be known as the author of texts in the "for Friends" version: Marek Dyjak, Janusz Radek, Michał Łanuszek, as well as for the Artists of the Piwnica Pod Baranami: Jacek Wójcicki, Szymon Zychowicz, Dorota Ślęzak, or Ewa Wnuk.

In Kasprzycki's music, traces of many inspirations can be found: "Heaven for Rent" was a mix of flamenco, pop, jazz, bossa nova, and folk, "Worldview" - a showcase of rock energy, "Songs and Not" - an excellent reference to the tradition of classical ballads, and "Four" a combination of poetic and rock sensitivity - in fact, it is this multilingualism and wide range of interests that define his musical style and create a tasty setting for the lyrics.

However, Kasprzycki's true power is reflected in his concerts - it is in contact with the audience that his characteristic charisma fully emanates, and the untapped energy, feeling, and sense of humor make the contact with the viewers both immediate and long-lasting - because whoever has been to a Kasprzycki concert almost always comes back, and it doesn't matter if it's a solo concert or with a band - Kasprzycki always plays at one hundred percent, and the blend of verbal acrobatics, musical surprises, intelligent provocations, fun with the audience, and solid playing make his concerts a truly unforgettable experience. He has played over 1500 concerts: solo, on horseback and on foot, with a band, with a big band, at singer-songwriter festivals, poetic festivals, folk festivals (Colors of Ostrava), rock festivals (Węgorzewo Rock Festival, Woodstock), and even contemporary music festivals (Sacrum Profanum). He writes, plays, sings, composes, and has no intention of stopping.
