Teatr Napięcie (Łódź) invites you to auditions for soloist parts in the newly created opera on the subject of cosmic power harmony entitled: "Cosmocanto".

AUDITION PROGRAM

The audition will consist of two stages. In the first stage, you should present 1-2 opera arias a capella (baroque or contemporary opera arias are welcome). The second stage involves presenting a fragment of the opera "Cosmocanto". Those applying for the audition will receive the opera scores 2 days before the audition date.

BASIC INFORMATION

ABOUT THE OPERA PROJECT "COSMOCANTO"

"Cosmocanto" is a two-act spectacle with music by Cezary Kurowski, created according to all the rules of the opera genre. In the narrative-musical layer, "Cosmocanto" balances between the tonal order of the cosmos and the disharmonious black holes. The action revolves around intergalactic journeys, and its main drive is the efforts of the main characters to harmonize the vectors of the cosmos with the help of an extraordinary sound wave called "Cosmocanto". Considering the framework of the story (taking into account baroque, Pythagorean, and Orphic contexts), our opera is already being shaped as a story about perfect singing.

The premiere is planned for the turn of January and February 2012 (taking into account the possibility of a slight shift in the date). The team of creators of "Cosmocanto" includes both permanent creators associated with the opera theater (e.g. conductor Michał Kocimski, or set designer Ryszard Kaja), as well as creators who are just starting their adventure with opera. The cast of the spectacle will eventually consist of about 50 people.

"Cosmocanto" is a non-profit and pro publico bono work, which is why we invite sincere vocal enthusiasts to participate in it, wanting to create a very important event for the development of the opera genre. The spectacle is created according to a clear rule that regardless of the amount of work and function, all members of the team (including main creators such as the conductor or composer) work on preparing the project without author royalties.
