Power Stronger Than Itself is a joint project of Szczecin Philharmonic Big Band and the Academy of Art in Szczecin. During the concert, we will hear the premiere performance of eight unique compositions by drummer Radek Wośko and saxophonist Tomasz Licak, who are also the driving force behind the entire initiative. In addition to the big band, jazz and entertainment music lecturers from the Academy will also appear on stage.

Power Stronger Than Itself will show the development, cross-section, and multi-generational nature of the Szczecin music scene, taking into account new trends in jazz music, especially in the context of compositions for big bands. This project – which is particularly pleasing from a promotional point of view – is a living proof of the effective collaboration of artists from different backgrounds, whose common denominator is broadly understood jazz. In the songs, we will find numerous references to various places in Szczecin and inspirations arising from the musicians' experiences.

This evening, we will hear the Szczecin Philharmonic Big Band in action, which has been operating under the auspices of the Szczecin Philharmonic since 2017 at the initiative of Igor Puszkara. Also appearing on stage will be: Joanna Gajda (piano), Bartosz Świątek (bass), Kuba Wójcik (guitar), Tomasz Orłowski (trumpet), Radek Wośko (drums), and Jarosław Buczkowski (accordion).
