Professor Krzysztof Kusiel-Moroz, a pedagogue at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, is an outstanding figure and the right hand of world-renowned composers and conductors.
Krzysztof Penderecki, Jacek Kasprzyk, Antoni Wit, Kazimierz Kord, Grzegorz Nowak, Witold Michniewski, and Maestro Valery Gergiev from the London Symphony Orchestra appreciate the professional approach of the Choir to entrusted artistic tasks, perfect program preparation, and confidence in performing even the most difficult musical works. The great oratorio works of Krzysztof Penderecki, Mahler's symphonies, and pieces by contemporary composers of the Grand Theatre - National Opera (Qudsja Zaher 2013) have already permanently found a place in the Ensemble's portfolio. Great conductors appreciate the precision and perfect preparation of young talents.
In the choir sing students from primary schools, gymnasiums, and high schools, as well as several university students.
Over the course of a quarter of a century, nearly a thousand children and youth have passed through the ranks of the ensemble, and another thousand have benefited from the artistic education activities conducted by the Choir Foundation.
The choir's activities are primarily concerts. These include professional performances commissioned by leading Polish and foreign artistic institutions, as well as equally important concerts in state-level institutions. The Sejm of the Republic of Poland, the Financial Supervision Authority, the National Bank of Poland, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Embassies are prestigious institutions collaborating with the Choir.
The Warsaw Children's Choir has performed many times at the National Philharmonic, the Grand Theatre - National Opera, and the Witold LutosÅawski Studio. Outside the capital, they have performed at the Wratislavia Cantans Festival, and in the Philharmonics of Bydgoszcz, WrocÅaw, Kraków, and the Katowice NOSPR.
The choir has also been invited to collaborate with prestigious institutions abroad, such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Echternach Festival in Luxembourg, the La Chaise Dieu Festival, the Passau Musikfestspiele, the Canterbury New Sound Festival, and concert halls in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki.
An important role in the choir's career has been played by the recorded albums, of which there are already eighteen. Many of them have received excellent reviews in professional press, and the album released in 2001 by Bridge Records featuring George Crumb's 'Star Child' with the participation of the Warsaw Children's Choir won a Grammy Award.
The gala concert for the twenty-fifth anniversary will take place on January 20, 2016, on the stage of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. The program includes 'Gloria' in D major by Antonio Vivaldi and the most beautiful carols and Christmas songs summarizing twenty-five years of artistic activity. This concert opens the year 2016 for the Warsaw Children's Choir. In March, we will hear beautiful children's voices in Krzysztof Penderecki's 'Passion' presented at the Warsaw National Philharmonic, and in April, the choir will visit Florence, where they will present Polish and Italian music on the occasion of the Liberation of Italy. These are just some of the great undertakings. We invite you!
