A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied under the guidance of Prof. Bogusław Madey. He also participated in conducting courses led by Sir Colin Davies and Jerzy Salwarowski. Laureate of the 3rd All-Poland Young Conductors Review in Białystok in honor of W. Lutosławski, a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and Art. Paweł Kos-Nowicki is a respected interpreter of oratorio music and classical works. He is also not averse to music from other eras and contemporary works.
He made his debut in 1999 at the Lublin Philharmonic Hall as the conductor of the Crown Tribunal Orchestra. He has also collaborated with the orchestras of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, the Opera and Philharmonic of Podlasie, the Częstochowa Philharmonic, the Płock Symphony Orchestra, the ACADEMIA Chamber Orchestra, and the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra. Since 2000, he has been the head of the New Chamber Orchestra. In 2010, at his initiative, the Warsaw Camerata choir and orchestra began their activities.
He has archival recordings for Polish Radio, including: "The Four Seasons" by K. Duda, Handel's oratorio "Messiah" with E. Kirkby and M. Chance, F. Ries' piano concerto, and others. He has premiered works by Polish and foreign composers such as P. Moss, R. Twardowski, A. Williams, and J. Dawe.
Paweł Kos-Nowicki collaborates with many outstanding soloists including: Emma Kirkby, Elizabeth Connell, Mirjam Tschopp, Michael Chance, Katarzyna Duda, Marta Boberska, Justyna Stępień, Piotr Kusiewicz, Robert Gierlach, Wojciech Gierlach, Paweł Kowalski, Leszek Wachnik, Tytus Wojnowicz, Zbigniew Pilch, and the Glass Duo ensemble. Since 2009, he has been a lecturer at the International Music Courses in Zamość.
