Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble
We invite you to a concert of the wind orchestra from the United States, the Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble. The ensemble was founded in 1970 by the renowned conductor Frank Battisti and operates at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. The Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble consists of young musicians aged 15â19 who qualified for the ensemble through auditions. The Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble is made up of musicians playing woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments and offers young artists the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the most important examples of musical literature intended for the aforementioned instrumental ensemble. The Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble performs both in the USA (including a concert at the National Band Festival at Carnegie Hall) and around the world, including in France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Russia, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Spain, Portugal, as well as in Japan and China. The ensemble's repertoire includes arrangements of works by famous artists from various eras â from compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Johann Strauss to traditional American music.
