Concert Hall of PSM I st. no. 5 named after H. Wieniawski

Organizer: Polish Society for Contemporary Music
Young musicians are not afraid to improvise, and a great proof of this is the very high interest that the next edition of workshops of the Polish Society for Contemporary Music for musical youth 'Don't be afraid to improvise!' enjoyed. This time, students of the State Music School I st. no. 5 named after H. Wieniawski in Warsaw took part in it.
The workshops were prepared and conducted by: double bassist Małgorzata Kołcz and composer and pianist Jarosław Siwiński. Both have been using modern methods in education for many years, promoting the idea of teaching improvisation to the youngest, working with children in various parts of Poland.
During the workshops, the youth learned how to improvise, learned various techniques of producing sounds, and even built instruments. The results are excellent.
The culmination of this collaboration is an upcoming concert, which will take place on Saturday, December 2 at 3:00 PM in the Concert Hall of PSM (24 Globusowa Street, Warsaw) with the participation of workshop participants and instructors.
Guaranteed great atmosphere and improvised pieces.

_______________
The basis of the workshops for young musicians 'Don't be afraid to improvise!' is the belief that creativity and independent thinking play a crucial role in the development of individuals and communities, including a sense of agency. Improvisation workshops open minds to new musical experiences, teaching independence of thought and expression, while collaborating with others. As a result, participants broaden their cognitive horizons, learning an alternative to the all-encompassing mass culture and opening up to contemporary music, while also learning mutual respect and cooperation, as well as independence in thinking and action.

*The workshops were held as part of the PTMW program 'Creative Warsaw', which is co-financed by the City of Warsaw.
