Music of Freedom â is a story about the beginnings of jazz in Poland, about the times of Leopold Tyrmand, who was an tireless and brave promoter of this music, born in 'imperialist' America. This year we commemorate the 100th anniversary of his birth. The musicians themselves, pioneers of this genre, will tell us about the first steps of Polish jazz musicians in homes, clubs, and on stage.
The series Music of Freedom features colorful memories revealing the behind-the-scenes of events that have permanently inscribed themselves in the history of Polish jazz. Eight extremely candid video conversations by Jacek Wróblewski with legendary musicians who debuted in the 1950s: Wojciech Karolak, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, PrzemysÅaw Dyakowski, Andrzej DÄ
browski, Janusz Rafalski, Witold Krotochwil, Jerzy Bartz, and LesÅaw Lic.
We invite you to the website www.audycjekulturalne.pl and to the YouTube channel of the National Center for Culture from Sunday, September 27 to November 22. For eight weeks, every Sunday, there will be another meeting with a different artist.
