In a joyful mood, we started the New Year's concert at Musikverein, in a hall that made everyone in it feel happy before the first notes of music flowed.
Maestro Franz Welser-Möst, setting the rhythm with his baton, asked "Who will dance with me?" spreading a joyful and optimistic mood around. And that was just the beginning of the beauty that filled the hall during the festive morning.
The subtle sounds of "Heldengedichte" painted the vision of an inspired poet, his dreams, desires, expressed emotions that enveloped us and took us into the world of his dreams, to whirl around.
Breaking this convention was the "Zigeunerbaron-Quadrille", which evoked memories and thoughts of cakes decorating Vienna's displays with beautiful pink pigs with Prosit Neujahr wishes. Enjoy. So delicious was this piece of the New Year's concert.
After this bit of sweetness, the maestro revealed a bit of the mystery with "Ziehrer In lauschiger Nacht", instilling in us a solemn mood, elegance, love, subtlety, embrace.
"Wonderful" echoed next to me after the resounding of "Frisch heran!". The wonderful freshness of this year's concert program.
In the second part of the concert, the maestro scattered pearls of love ('Perlen der Liebe'), causing us to soar high in the heights of our emotions of happiness being in this place, to the rhythm of castanets with Ouvertüre zur Operette "Isabella" we followed the composer's thought with pleasure getting to know Isabella, who is not easy to meet in opera salons.
There was an extraordinary depth in this concert, in the selection of compositions, in the conducting of the orchestra, it made us think, triggered reflections, touched deeply, gave the possibility of immersing ourselves in the music, like in the most beautiful sea in the world.
The complement of impressions was the opportunity to listen live to children's choirs singing in sailor outfits from the organ gallery, when the children appeared, they immediately attracted attention, unleashed great enthusiasm and were received with great openness. It was the most sublime moment of the concert. Unprecedented respect and recognition among the present audience. And great joy.
With great fantasy ('Allegro fantastique') Wiener Philharmoniker under the baton of the magnificent Franz Welser-Möst painted a musical watercolor "Aquarellen" in our souls, hearts, minds, an image that will forever hang in the gallery of our memories from participating in New Year's concerts in Vienna, in opera performances, concerts and will certainly be a gem at the vernissages of memories during meetings with classical music enthusiasts.
