Momo
Momo is a girl who has the gift of listening, the gift of being 'here and now'. In the city where she lives, mysterious grey gentlemen appear one day. They persuade the residents to deposit their free time with them. They convince them that they should now give up pleasure and focus on using their time as productively as possible, e.g. by working more. They promise that in this way, they will be able to use the deposited free time sooner, which until now has significantly increased in quantity. Most adults fall for this offer. Busy only with work and their obligations, they fall into an increasing rush, stop meeting and talking to each other, and have less and less time for themselves, their friends, and children… Momo manages to recognize the gray gentlemen's trick. To save the city's residents, she goes to meet Master Hora – the lord of time. Together they manage to defeat the gray gentlemen and save the world from destruction.
'Momo' by the famous writer Michael Ende ('The Neverending Story') is a story about the importance of stopping to be attentive to the surrounding world and other people, to be 'here and now', because only in the 'here and now' does real life take place, only in the 'here and now' can one truly meet another person. It is a story about the skill of listening, the great power of friendship, and why life should not be postponed to 'later'. 'Momo' is a wonderful material for a wise, attractive, and very relevant show for children and their parents.
