MEISINGER Spanish Night 2025 Tour

The concert program 'Spanish Night' includes the most famous and beloved Spanish pieces by the audience, inseparably associated with the guitar, such as 'Recuerdos de la Alhambra' by F. Tarrega, 'Romance de Amor', or 'Asturias' by I. Albeniz.

Individual pieces of the 'Spanish Night' program Krzysztof Meisinger has performed many times with orchestras around the world, always eliciting great admiration from the audience.

Now, all these pieces have been compiled into one extremely attractive program, which Krzysztof Meisinger performs together with the phenomenal percussionist Patrycja Betley and the MEISINGER Soloists Ensemble, a group he founded, consisting of the most outstanding soloists, chamber musicians, and orchestral musicians from all over Poland. 'Spanish Night' is a program recorded on a disc by Krzysztof Meisinger for the British label CHANDOS, with its premiere scheduled for March 29 this year.

Krzysztof Meisinger

According to critics and music lovers worldwide, he is one of the most outstanding and charismatic classical guitarists. He collaborates with such classical music stars as Sumi Jo, the Philharmonia Quartett Berlin, and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields orchestra. His talent is compared by international critics to that of artists like Piotr Anderszewski and Pepe Romero, and his masters include great guitarists of our time such as Aniello Desiderio and Christopher Parkening. He performs worldwide from Tokyo to Los Angeles and Buenos Aires, playing concerts in the most renowned halls such as the Musikverein in Vienna, Wigmore Hall in London, Tokyo International Forum, Berlin Philharmonic, Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, and the Grand Theatre National Opera in Warsaw. Krzysztof Meisinger's debuts at the Berlin Philharmonic and the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna ended with several minutes of standing ovations. He performs with the best orchestras such as the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, PKF – Prague Philharmonia, Sinfonia Varsovia, Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, and Sinfonietta Cracovia alongside conductors such as Wojciech Michniewski, Krzysztof Urbański, Michał Klauza, Agnieszka Duczmal, Jose Maria Florencio, and Łukasz Borowicz.

He has performed at many festivals, including the Polish Music Festival in Krakow, Usedomer Musikfestival, Music Festival in Łańcut, Jerzy Waldorff Festival in Radziejowice, 'Music in Old Krakow', Music Festival in Łańcut, Summer Festival of the National Philharmonic, La Folle Journee de Varsovie, 'Toruń - Music and Architecture', and the Festival of Music Competition Laureates in Bydgoszcz.

His recordings receive numerous awards and excellent reviews from world critics. He currently has 10 solo albums and many albums on which he appears as a guest. Among the solo albums are recordings made at the famous Abbey Road Studio in London with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields orchestra conducted by Jose Maria Florencio (Melodia Sentimental), with Sumi Jo, the Prague Philharmonic, and the Philharmonia Quartet Berlin (Meisinger), with the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra (Astor and Astor - live at the Opera), and with the Poland baROCK baroque orchestra (Vivaldissimo). In May 2020, Krzysztof Meisinger signed a 3-year exclusive recording contract with the British label CHANDOS. His debut album recorded for this label, titled 'Elogio de la Guitarra', is receiving stunning reviews and was honored with the 'Best of 2021' award by the AllMusic portal.

As a conductor, he has collaborated with, among others, the Warsaw Chamber Opera, the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra, the Choir of the Maritime Academy in Szczecin, and many philharmonic orchestras. From 2010 to 2015, he was a regular guest conductor of the Capella Bydgostiensis orchestra.

He is a laureate of, among others, the Medal for Merit to Culture 'Gloria Artis', the Artistic Award of the Mayor of Szczecin, the 'Pro Arte' Award, and the Individual Award of the Minister of Culture. He is the founder and artistic director of the MEISINGER Music Festival – an annual music festival held since 2017 in Szczecin. Thanks to the highest artistic level and professional organization, it quickly became the largest and most prestigious classical music festival in the West Pomeranian region. Since the beginning of MMF's existence, it has hosted artists such as Ivo Pogorelich, Sumi Jo, Piotr Anderszewski, Mariza, L'Arpeggiata, Alena Baeva, Janoska Ensemble, Daniel Stabrawa, Sinfonia Varsovia, Soyoung Yoon, and many other outstanding artists.

In May 2022, in a ranking by the British music portal uDiscoverMusic, Krzysztof Meisinger was recognized as one of the 20 greatest classical guitarists of all time. In this ranking, his name appears alongside Andreas Segovia, Julian Bream, and Francisco Tarrega.

Patrycja Betley

A charismatic multi-percussionist, composer, music therapist, and teacher.

She co-creates leading Polish folk ensembles: Karolina Cicha & Spółka, the Betley/Miró duo, the Możdżer/Betley/Smoliński jazz trio, and Kayah & Transoriental Orchestra. She co-initiated the formation of female bands Same Suki and Pamaruna. As a soloist, she accompanies Leszek Możdżer in his performances with the Warsaw Chamber Opera MACV. As a session musician, she has been gaining experience for over 27 years alongside many artists and supports various ensembles musically. She has collaborated with artists such as Zbigniew Namysłowski with the Aukso Orchestra conducted by Marek Moś, Adam Pierończyk, Zygmunt Konieczny, Carrantuohill, Zakopower, Tadeusz Woźniak, Stanisław Soyka, and others. She has played in many bands: Shannon, Hoboud, Balkan Sevdah, Danar, Maria Pomianowska, Mamadou & Sama Yoon, and others.

She creates melodies in rhythm. Thinking about music and creating it on rhythmic instruments, she follows the melody. Rhythmic melodies distinguish the artist among percussionists, which she associates with the fact that her first instrument was the Irish flute. However, multicultural percussion instruments have become Patrycja's domain. She has always been fascinated by combining percussion instruments from different parts of the world with a traditional classical percussion set, and even further with electronic instruments and synthesizers. As a musician, she also writes music for performances or performs as a musician in various theaters: the Dramatic Theater, Ateneum in Warsaw, the Pantomime Theater in Wrocław, etc.

Education is a very important part of Patrycja Betley's activities. She is a certified art therapist, a graduate of the Gordon course degree, and completed a course in learning to play gongs with particular emphasis on their impact in individual and group therapy. The artist and educator conducts her own classes titled 'Instrumentem po mapie' also for youth and adults. Since 2022, she has been an official endorser of one of the largest global percussion brands, MEINL.
