Characteristic appearance. Colorful personality. Unbridled creative energy. World-renowned conductor and composer Jerzy Maksymiuk will conduct the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra next Friday. They will be accompanied by the winner of the XI Chopin Competition - Krzysztof Jabłoński and the Academic Choir named after prof. Jan Szyrocki at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin.
One of the most outstanding Polish conductors, the extraordinary creative personality, unconventional and surprising Jerzy Maksymiuk, will stand on the stage of the Szczecin Philharmonic next Friday. Maestro Maksymiuk last visited Szczecin over a dozen years ago.
That evening we will hear Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Concerto in G major, Op. 58 - a composition in a very classical form, but already heralding emotional and lyrical romanticism. The solo part of the Piano Concerto will be performed by Krzysztof Jabłoński, the winner of the XI Chopin Competition. We can expect Beethoven's characteristic lyricism, virtuosic brilliance, and a certain restraint in the use of expressive means.
Igor Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms is certainly a work liberated from classical rules, a choral symphony, a great work of extraordinary power of expression. Stravinsky created music for Latin psalm texts that changed the face of the symphony genre, giving it a more free and individual character. This work will be enriched by a group of several dozen choristers from the Academic Choir named after prof. Jan Szyrocki at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, prepared for the performance by the choir conductor - Szymon Wyrzykowski.
The concert will start on Friday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets priced at 40 PLN (normal), 30 PLN (group), 20 PLN (reduced) can be reserved at the Philharmonic box office (pl. Armii Krajowej 1) in person or by phone at 91 422 12 52 or 539 94 94 54. The box office is open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Tue - Thu), 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Fri) and one hour before each ticketed event.
