Duo Poetico is a male-female guitar duo of exceptionally talented, young guitarists from WrocÅaw. Dagmara Mazur and Jacek Piechota will perform on April 27 at Stara GieÅda during the next installment of the WrocÅaw concert series 'Podróże po Strunach' in honor of Marek DÅugosz.
Dagmara graduated from the second degree music school in ZamoÅÄ, while Jacek is a graduate of the first and second degree PSM in Opole. They met during their studies in WrocÅaw, where they began learning in Dr. Waldemar Gromolak's guitar class. When they first played 'Walce Poetyckie' by Enrique Grandos in 2013, they felt that together they could create a truly professional guitar duo. Thus began the work on the repertoire of Duo Poetico. Soon, the duo developed their own style, excellently combining lightness, poeticism, and true musical impressionism. Among their signature pieces are 'Aqua y Vinho' by Antonio E. Gismonti and 'Duo Concertant, op. 31 no. 1' by A. Lhoyer.
Dagmara Mazur and Jacek Piechota are not only an excellent duo but also two artistic personalities. 'Dagmara is the gentle and lyrical part, while I am more emotional,' says Jacek Piechota. These two qualities are evident not only during their duo performances but also in their solo parts of the concert. During the April performance, Dagmara planned to perform 'Sonata Eroica op. 150' by Mauro Giuliani and 'Valseana' from the Watercolor Suite by Sergio Assad. Meanwhile, Jacek will play energetic parts from 'Suite In modo Polonoco' by Polish composer Aleksander Tansman.
The concert 'Lyrical Sound of Strings' by Duo Poetico is thus an opportunity to get to know the young and extremely promising guitarists from WrocÅaw. The next opportunity will be the following installment of the 'Podróże po Strunach' series scheduled for May 25.
