Krzysztof Cugowski, a legendary rockman, co-founder of Budka Suflera, a fulfilled solo musician. He is just beginning one of the most important periods in his stage career. Ahead of him is a jubilee year, filled with concerts and musical events, during which he will celebrate the 55th anniversary of his artistic career. He also plans to release a new album in the company of excellent musicians from the ZespóŠMistrzów.
Krzysztof Cugowski began his artistic journey in 1969 in Lublin, founding with Janusz PÄdzis and Krzysztof Brozi the band Budka Suflera. - We had heads full of dreams, we didn't plan a bright future, we just wanted to play - recalls Krzysztof Cugowski. Over time, from youthful dreams, a band emerged that "stirred things up" on the rock scene. After the legendary group's activity ended in 2014, the artist did not step off the stage for a moment. He began a new path, initially with his sons Piotr and Wojciech, creating the project Cugowscy. This joint family venture was sealed with two albums and a gold record.
Since 2017, the artist has been conquering Polish stages with the extraordinary ZespóŠMistrzów, composed of top-class instrumentalists. Jacek Królik plays guitar, Cezary Konrad on drums, Robert Kubiszyn on bass, and Tomasz KaÅwak on keyboards. They have hundreds of joint concerts behind them on Polish and foreign stages. - We understand each other without words. We resonate on the same musical waves and enjoy every joint concert - says Krzysztof Cugowski. This year, he embarks with ZespóŠMistrzów on the 55th anniversary tour, which will include several dozen concerts in all major Polish cities. The concerts will be a journey through decades with stops at the great hits and songs that have played in the soul of Krzysztof Cugowski throughout the years. The collaboration with ZespóŠMistrzów will also be sealed this year with an album featuring new tracks. - We couldn't imagine it being any other way. We are happy that the album will be released this year and will open our next joint chapter - adds the Artist.
Krzysztof Cugowski also has several solo albums and the album "Integralnie" (2001) with covers of great hits of Polish and world rock. He has collaborated with Ray Wilson, the former vocalist of Genesis. Together they recorded the song "Not about us". The vocalist has also performed with Gary Brooker and Garou. Budka Suflera ended its activity in 2014. In December of the same year, Krzysztof Cugowski was awarded by the President of Poland with the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta for outstanding contributions to Polish culture and for achievements in artistic and creative work. Last year, the family trio under the name CUGOWSCY released an album titled "ZaklÄty krÄ g". The finale of the concert tour dedicated to the new release is planned for next year.
