On November 17, at Polsat Plus Arena in Gdynia, the premiere concert dedicated to the works of James Horner will take place - the author of soundtracks to over a hundred Hollywood films, including the highest-grossing productions in cinema history: 'Avatar' and 'Titanic'.

The Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw and the Warsaw University of Technology Choir, conducted by Maciej Sztor, will perform the most famous compositions by James Horner for films such as: 'Avatar', 'Titanic', 'Braveheart', 'Apollo 13', 'Glory', and 'Aliens'. The concert program will also feature the latest music from 'Avatar 2'. Solo parts will be sung by Anna Lasota, and the narration will be led by Magda Mi!!!u00c5!!!u009bka-Jackowska.

The specially selected original repertoire will allow appreciation of the stylistic richness and talent of James Horner - one of the most outstanding contemporary film music composers, orchestrators, and conductors. In his unforgettable soundtracks, he skillfully combines choral, instrumental, and electronic sounds. He successfully created music for historical cinema, science fiction, dramas, horrors, and animations. He was able to portray every musical color, and in his statements, he often compared composing to painting.

Horner quickly became one of the most sought-after Hollywood composers. He collaborated with the best musicians in the world and outstanding directors such as: George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Mel Gibson, and Oliver Stone. In 1987, Horner received his first Oscar nomination for the music for the film 'Aliens'. However, he only received the coveted Academy Awards in 1998 for the score for 'Titanic' and for the song 'My Heart Will Go On', which he co-wrote with Will Jennings.

'Horner's music requires a very skilled performing apparatus that can convey all the nuances of the score and realize the entire palette of colors in a noble and subtle way. His music flows; it cannot be confined within bounds' - summarizes conductor Maciej Sztor.

The pieces performed live by the choir and orchestra will be illustrated by a projection on the cinema screen of film excerpts and the most famous film frames.
