Award for Weronika Włodarczyk in Los Angeles and debut at the prestigious Walt Disney Concert Hall

Weronika Włodarczyk, a graduate student in the solo singing class of Dr. hab. Sylwia Burnicka-Kalischewska, prof. AS, made her debut at the famous Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. This success was possible thanks to her participation in the international competition Los Angeles Golden Classical Music Adwards International Competition 2024, where the student from the Vocal Department of the Szczecin Academy of Art won the 1st prize. Weronika prepared a repertoire inspired by events that led to her previous successes, including the song 'I am and I cry' from 'Three fragments from poems by Jan Kasprowicz op. 5' by Karol Szymanowski or the piece 'Where the corals lie' by Edgar Elgar from the cycle 'Sea Pictures' op. 37. In April 2022, Weronika Włodarczyk performed with the symphony orchestra Universitätsorchester Gießen, presenting works by the mentioned composer, and a year later, in April 2023, the mezzo-soprano made her debut in the concert space named after him - The Elgar Room at the renowned Royal Albert Hall in London. Her interpretation of 'Where the corals lie' was so convincing that the jury chose Elgar's song for Weronika Włodarczyk to perform at the winners' concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in California, USA. In the preparations and competition recordings, Weronika was supported on the piano by Agnieszka Barańska, and during her performance at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, she was accompanied on the piano by Lianchua Chi.
