hoshii sessions is an exceptional romance between the hip-hop and pop scenes with the sound of modern jazz, embodied by the band hoshii, led by saxophonist and producer – Kuba Więcek. This event is a unique opportunity to experience live the spontaneous creative process, in which both artists and the audience become participants in something extremely rare – the creation of music being born in real-time, directly on stage. This concert will be exceptional because it is the first hoshii session on a large stage with such a number of guests. This event is a continuation of the iconic series that the band inaugurated on the YouTube platform with a surprising unique mix of various music genres.
The hoshii band is a group of strong musical personalities, where each member brings their unique sound and must step out of their comfort zone to find a common space with the others.
hoshii, which means "desire" in Japanese, is the latest project of Kuba Więcek, who returns to the jazz scene with new inspirations gathered during collaborations with leading figures from the hip-hop and alternative scenes. The music of the hoshii band consists of thoughtful, carefully constructed beats by Kuba, which have been transformed into a jazz quartet and produced in a way aimed at redefining contemporary jazz. The band consists of: Grzegorz Tarwid – pianist, with whom Kuba studied in Copenhagen, Max Mucha – bassist known for his collaboration with Christian Scott, and Miłosz Berdzik – drummer, a freshly baked graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music.
