Final of the XV Summer Festival of Hiking on the Gothic Trail 2024 Szczecin

The great final closing the XV Summer Festival of Hiking on the Gothic Trail 2024 is approaching. It will be the last evening of this year's summer filled with history, architecture, and music in Szczecin. The final Gothic Trail will lead us from the statue of St. Otto of Bamberg in the mint courtyard of the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle to the church of St. John the Evangelist of the Pallottines. One of the attractions will be the opportunity to visit the interiors of the Loitzów tenement house, the seat of the State Secondary School of Fine Arts named after C. Brancusi. The historical program will be led by Dr. Paweł Migdalski, the author of this year's route on the Gothic Trail following the footsteps of the Apostle of Pomerania on the 900th anniversary of his missionary work.

The culmination of the Festival will be a concert titled 'Beyond the Horizon'. Music from the 19th and 20th centuries by English, Icelandic, German, and Polish composers, inspired by the past, will be performed, while simultaneously reflecting on the unknown world of the future. Among others, Felix Mendelssohn, Ralf Vaughan Williams, Jón Leifs, and Grażyna Bacewicz contributed to this creation. The star of the evening will be the outstanding Polish violinist Radosław Kamieniarz, who will perform masterpieces, for the first time on historical violins, the violin concerto by Ralf Vaughan Williams together with the Orchestra of the Foundation for the Academy of Early Music conducted by Paweł Osuchowski.
