Concerts of film music inevitably evoke in our memory images and sounds that we have remembered along with the emotions that accompanied us while watching the entire film.
Especially when they are pieces that speak of love, of feelings, of the relationship between the characters, which are a consequence of their previous experiences, previous events.
The film that enchanted me during my first viewing in my teenage years is the musical 'The Phantom of the Opera', which has remained with me entirely, with that music, with those performers, with that place where the action took place.
'It will be a beautiful concert' I heard at the box office while picking up my ticket for 'Made in America' prepared for music lovers on one of the warm and rainy evenings, for which I traveled from the other end of Poland.
The program of this event looked like a menu of 20 delicacies recommended by the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, composed of the greatest hits from this film genre. Among them were those for which the Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Bassem Akiki, composed for me a set filled with beauty, moments of emotion, immense sympathy, joy, and smiles.
For the appetizer, 'Singin' in the Rain', during which Maciej Adamczyk spread an umbrella of immense positive energy over us, which accompanied us until the end of this concert conceived as telling a completely new story composed of all the program positions, connected by humorous dialogues between the artists.
For the first course, 'A Little Priest' (performed by Monika Kuczera and Jacek RzempoÅuch) from the musical 'Sweeney Todd', which I really wanted to see and hear in Brussels under the baton of this conductor â entirely to be consumed. A moment for us: 'I Got Rhythm' from the musical 'Girl Crazy', and then the second course: 'All I Ask of You' from the musical 'The Phantom of the Opera' performed by Karolina Pasierbska in a duet with Maciej Adamczyk, immersed in delightful sounds seasoned with the right spices filling the entire golden concert hall.
For dessert, 'Memory' (performed by Natalia KiczyÅska) from the musical 'Cats', for the memories of the emotions that erupted in the audience during the bows. Such enthusiastic calls for an encore from the audience may mean that not only I composed my own musical set.
