When the break ended on Friday evening, Bassem Akiki appeared on stage, and under his direction, a miniature work for a large orchestra sounded. The five of our thoughts developing along with the music, suddenly interrupted by the silence between the pieces, awakened a sense of longing in us. There was a huge desire to hear 'Five Miniatures' for piano by Artur Malawski, arranged for orchestra by Piotr Moss, performed one after another, to further highlight the individual character of each piece and to create a listening tranquility that provides new value. An immensely interesting composition performed by the symphony orchestra of the Podkarpacka Philharmonic.
After such a heightened appetite, after presenting in the first part of the concert the work 'Four Ancient Monologues' by Piotr Moss to texts written especially by Antoni Libera, performed by Ewa Wolak in a beautifully sounding alto, with deep expressiveness, the dramatism of the characters, which for me was neutralized by the composition under the baton of this conductor, the intoxicating rhythmic patterns of Ravel's 'Bolero' spread out.
The soloists, putting their individuality, feelings, and experiences into their performances, under the baton of a conductor with a southern temperament, wove a rhythmic story, the listening of which increased the appetite to let oneself be carried away by the dance, immersing oneself in its rhythm, emotions, and beautifully sounding music.
