Special concert on the occasion of the release by Tank Records (the band's label) of the first D.I.Y. cassette titled 'Still Alive Man'.
The cassette contains recordings from the concert in Jarocin 1984. Dezerter will play material from this concert.
Dezerter is a punk rock band that was formed in Warsaw in May 1981. The group initially adopted the provocative name SS-20 (derived from Soviet missiles with nuclear warheads), which they were forced to change during martial law. As Dezerter, the band recorded the single 'To the Future' (1983). In 1985, two compilations featuring Dezerter's songs were released: 'Fala' and 'If Punk, Then Punk'. The year 1987 saw the release in the USA by Maximum Rock'n'Roll of Dezerter's first full-length album 'Underground Out Of Poland' and the first (censored) album in the country - 'Collaboration'. The year 1989 brought another album - 'Collaboration II', and 1990 - 'Everyone Against Everyone' (released in Poland and France) and a two-month tour of Western Europe (Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands) and Japan.
The following years of activity brought important albums for the Polish independent scene, including 'Blasphemy' (1992), 'How Much Soul?' (1994), 'I Have Claws, I Have Fangs' (1996), 'The Earth is Flat' (1997). In the 21st century, three studio albums were released: 'Illegal Time Killer' (2004); 'The Right to Be an Idiot' (2010), which was appreciated not only by listeners but also exceptionally by the music industry, as evidenced by the Fryderyk award in 2010; and 'The Bigger Eats the Smaller' (2014). In 2016, after 33 years, the single 'To the Future' was reissued.
The band actively concerts not only in the country but also in many countries in Europe (Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Finland) and the United States.
Dezerter's songs have appeared on many compilations and made it to the soundtracks of several films (including 'Wa!!!u0142!!!u0119sa. A Man of Hope' directed by A. Wajda and 'House of Evil' directed by W. Smarzowski).
