A group of outstanding instrumentalists - soloists and chamber musicians founded in 1986 by cellist Andrzej Wróbel. It is the only group in Poland and one of the few in Europe specializing in performing chamber music in such an original lineup. The group has reached a level that allows them to perform on all stages around the world. The 12-member group includes a string sextet, a wind quintet, and a piano. The selection of such instruments allows them to present to the audience many works of world chamber music, rarely performed precisely because of the unusual lineup for which they were written.
Camerata Vistula's repertoire includes chamber works ranging from the late Baroque to contemporary times, including many pieces written specifically for the group. The close collaboration of CV with many composers means that they also have numerous premieres of works by Polish contemporary composers in their repertoire.
Camerata Vistula has recorded many pieces from their repertoire for Polish Radio, as well as for BBC Radio, Polish Television, and record labels. Their recordings have received excellent reviews in British and French publications.
The group has performed in concert halls in Poland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Denmark, France, Spain, Germany, Russia, Hungary, United Kingdom, Mexico, and with great success at many renowned festivals, including: "Warsaw Autumn", La Chaise Dieu Festival, "Inventionen" in Berlin, "Cervantino" in Mexico, festival in Glasgow.
