Event Description

Andrzej Szpak, vocalist, violinist, guitarist, lyricist, composer, author of publications on culture, has been active in the Szczecin cultural scene since 1965.

The beginnings of his musical journey include the well-known band MY from the 60s, later concerts with Mieczysław Świątecki from Krakow's Piwnica pod Baranami, with the Warsaw Quartet and performances in many countries in Europe and the USA.

He organized many musical events in Szczecin and participated in them, inviting Farida, Marianna Wróblewska and Włodzimierz Nahorny, Ryszard Poznakowski, the band Czerwono-Czarni, Jerzy Grunwald, Piotr Kuśniak from the band Trubadurzy and others.

He became a finalist of the 2nd edition of The Voice Senior, received a distinction at the Polonia Festival of Polish Song in Opole in 2024, which resulted in recording an album with a jazz quintet featuring songs by Czesław Niemen. In 2023, the jubilarian received the award 'Zasłużony Kulturze Gloria Artis' from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. The album, as well as his book 'Musical Szczecin of the 60s', will be available for sale at the benefit for which Szczecin vocalists and bands have been invited, including Luz Blues, the duet Jackpot - Kasia and Maciek Kazuba, and others.
