Antonio Vivaldi

The son of the esteemed violinist Giovanni Battista Vivaldi was born in Venice in 1678. At the age of 25, he was ordained as a priest and became known as the "red priest". He became a violin teacher at the Hospital of Mercy and a conductor of the orchestra in Venice, which was highly renowned at that time.
This composer is mainly known for his instrumental works, especially his violin concertos (e.g. The Four Seasons). However, Vivaldi also composed concertos and chamber music for other instruments as well as operas, such as the six concertos for flute and string instruments op. 10 or The Olympiad (opera). The style of his concerts influenced the work of Baroque musicians and those of later eras.
In addition to his career as a composer, it is worth mentioning that he was an outstanding violinist, captivating audiences with his playing technique. From 1737, he traveled to Amsterdam, Paris, and Vienna, where he fell ill and passed away in 1741, leaving behind approximately 770 works.
