This instrument, although rarely appearing in orchestras, is deeply rooted in folk music from around the world. It belongs to the group of aerophones, instruments that produce sounds through the flow of air vibrating a reed.
The accordion was born in the 19th century. It was constructed by Cyrill Demian in 1829. It is believed that the main reason for its creation was the search for an instrument that could compete with Asian mouth organs.
There are many types of accordions. However, they are all built similarly. On the right side, there is a keyboard, usually composed of keys, sometimes buttons, and on the left special buttons used to produce bass sounds, chords, and the not always present melodic manual called the baryton.
