60th Session of Musica Moderna (April 16 - May 8, 2012)
The 60th session of MUSICA MODERNA will be inaugurated by young performers who will present, among other things, works by young composers - students of composition classes at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. The growing interest of students in presenting their own compositions and performing new music has led to two concerts - YOUNG COMPOSERS, YOUNG PERFORMERS. This fact requires special emphasis on the occasion of the anniversary edition and testifies to the intense promotion of young creators and performers, which is a lasting element of the MUSICA MODERNA tradition.
The concerts of the session will also feature artistic achievements of composers and performers - academic teachers of our University. The program of the session will be enriched by a Concert of the Computer Music Studio of Electronic Music and a lecture by Dr. Olga Hans. During the spring edition, we traditionally invite you to Łęczyca for a concert of choral music. Guests of the session will be young musicians playing in bands: WARSAW CON-TEMPORARY ENSEMBLE and TUTAM SAXOPHONE QUARTET.
The finale of the session will be a composer's concert by MARCIN STAŃCZYK, organized in cooperation with the Arthur Rubinstein Łódź Philharmonic, which will take place as part of the cyclical presentations of contemporary music - contem.ucha.
Free admission to all concerts and lectures of the session held at our University and at the Church of the Bernardine Fathers in Łęczyca.
