Project 'Genesis' April 9, Trzebnica, 7:00 PM, Attic of the Post-Cistercian Monastery of the Borromean Sisters in Trzebnica, ul. ks. Dz. W. Bochenka 30
A meditative spectacle that presents musical visions inspired by the oldest monument of Polish music - the hymn 'Bogurodzica'. This religious piece serves as an inspiration for contemplative sounds deeply rooted in modern forms of electronic music and video. Audiovisual technology becomes a time machine here, transporting the audience on an artistic journey - through the history of Polish music. The premiere space of the project is the attic of the Post-Cistercian Monastery of St. Jadwiga in Trzebnica. Passing through the baroque interiors of the monastery, which are cared for daily by the Sisters of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo, the audience will be introduced to an ascetic atmosphere of silence. The city itself - Trzebnica - located in a belt of picturesque hills, a place where a rich history intertwines with the dynamism of changes that characterize modernity and set directions for the future, invites you to visit.
ATTRACTIONS IN TRZEBNICA
Among the five artists nominated for the main award, we will hear two in Trzebnica. The award of 100,000 PLN funded by the President of the City of WrocÅaw is a joint initiative of the City of WrocÅaw and Program 2 of Polish Radio. This award is given to a Polish composer for the best work, whose premiere took place in the last two years, and which was created within the last five years.

In the extraordinary space, in the attic of the Post-Cistercian Monastery of St. Jadwiga, we will also hear Trzebnica resident PaweÅ Hendrich (guitar, computer), a world-class representative of the young generation of composers of Polish contemporary music. It is also worth emphasizing that cellist Andrzej Bauer, whom we will also hear in Trzebnica, is one of the few scholarship holders of the famous Polish composer Witold LutosÅawski.
Collaboration with director Andrzej Kosendiak began last year when the Trzebnica Municipality was a partner of the Wratislavia Cantans festival, and one of the concerts took place in the Trzebnica basilica as part of it. Thanks to this cooperation, the residents gained a completely new quality of the artistic dimension of the event, and the partnership at this year's Musica Polonica Nova festival is a continuation of that. This is a great prestige and distinction for Trzebnica. We are the second city in history - after Amsterdam - outside WrocÅaw, where a concert will take place as part of this festival. Not only the artistic level of the event is a value of the concert in our city. Thanks to the cooperation with the Borromean Sisters, the concert in Trzebnica will take place in an unusual, but very atmospheric place - in the renovated attic of the monastery! I am convinced that we will be participants in an extraordinary project.
