Ukończył z wyróżnieniem kompozycję w klasie Mariana Borkowskiego (1996) oraz dyrygenturę w klasie Ryszarda Dudka (1997) w AM w Warszawie. Swój kunszt dyrygencki doskonalił pod kierunkiem Zoltana Pesko (2000-2002) i Jurija Simonowa (2003-2008).
Urodzony w Wilnie w 1930 r. W latach 1952-57 studiował fortepian i kompozycję w klasie Juliusa Juzeliunasa w Państwowym Konserwatorium Litewskiej SRR w Wilnie. Studia kompozytorskie kontynuował w latach 1957-60 w Państwowej Wyższej Szkole Muzycznej w Warszawie u Bolesława Woytowicza.
Urodzony w Paryżu w 1656 roku był jedną z czołowych postaci rozwijającej się wówczas szkoły francuskiej. Studiował kompozycję u Lully oraz pobierał lekcje od Sainte-Colombe.
